Cassandra E. Brown, a native of Montgomery, has always been inspired to succeed early in life – with education being placed as a priority. She has spent many years advocating for educational advancement and continues to align herself with organizations and individuals that promote educational excellence and success.  Through various mentoring opportunities, she has served (and still serves) as a mentor for hundreds of young people in the River Region.

Cassandra has been employed with SABIC (formerly GE Plastics) for thirty-four years as a Quality Systems Specialist, where she currently interprets and enforces policies and standards.  She also currently serves as the president of the Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Montgomery City-County Library.  She has served as president of Big Brothers/Big Sisters Advisory Board; on the planning committee for Making Strides for the American Cancer Society of Montgomery; as co-chair of the 45th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March, Montgomery Committee; as the Woodcrest Community Block Leader; and has been a SABIC Community Volunteer since 1986. Cassandra is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church (Pike Road).

Cassandra received her education through Montgomery Public Schools, graduating from Jefferson Davis High School in 1981. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Masters of Business Administration from Troy State University–Montgomery. Cassandra brings leadership, analytical, and planning skills to the board. It is her desire to be actively involved in the continuous improvement of Montgomery Public Schools. As a board member, she is excited about the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families, and to support the district's educators.
