Governor Kay Ivey joined Halcyon Elementary school community and MPS district leaders for a special "Patriots Day" celebration. The special visit, filled with heartfelt remembrance of 9/11 and the sacrifices made by our nation's first responders left a lasting impact on our young learners.
Halcyon Elementary Principal Shannon Schmidt shared her excitement, "This was a great opportunity for us as faculty and staff. It's the first time a Governor has visited Halcyon. It shows they believe in our students and their future. Strong children make a strong Alabama!
