Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of two key leaders to serve in interim roles as the district continues its commitment to excellence in education and operational efficiency.
Pamela Watkins has been appointed as the Interim Chief School Financial Officer (CSFO). With extensive experience in financial management and a proven track record of fiscal responsibility, Watkins will lead the district's financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation during this transition period. Her expertise will ensure continued transparency and financial stability for the district. Watkins has previously served as Director of Budgeting and Financial Reporting, bringing a wealth of knowledge to this interim role.
In addition, MPS is excited to welcome Jamie Wilson, Interim Superintendent. With over 20 years of educational leadership experience, including serving as Chief of Staff, Wilson brings a vision for student success and a collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and the community. Her dedication to maintaining the district's focus on academic excellence and equity for all students will inspire and guide the district through this period of transition.
Dr. Brenda Coleman, President of the Montgomery County Board of Education, stated, "We are confident that Ms. Watkins and Ms. Wilson will provide the leadership and stability our district needs during this time of transition. Their combined expertise will ensure that we continue to meet our goals, both academically and financially, while we conduct our search for permanent leadership."
The Montgomery County Board of Education will begin the process of identifying permanent candidates for both roles and will keep the community informed of updates.
