MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) has announced a significant improvement in its 2023-2024 Federal and State Report Card results, with the district’s overall rating increasing from a “D” to a "C." MPS increased its score by seven points from the previous school year.
"We are proud to see improvements in areas of academic growth and achievement. There are notable gains in our graduation rate, which has risen by nearly 12%, and in College and Career Readiness, which has increased by 20%. This progress is a true testament to the hard work of our district leaders, central office staff, school staff, and all stakeholders,” said Interim Superintendent Jamie Wilson. “Our students are consistently growing and showing innovation, and we are incredibly proud of them.”
To celebrate these achievements, MPS will host a celebration event at G.W. Carver High School on Monday, Dec. 11, 2024, at 6 p.m. The event will highlight student work and include presentations from district leaders detailing the initiatives that contributed to the improved State Report Card performance.
