This year’s Durr Lecture Series at Percy Julian High School was nothing short of remarkable. We were honored to welcome Omo Moses, the son of civil rights leader Bob Moses, who shared his father’s extraordinary story through his newly released memoir. Omo’s personal reflections on his father’s journey in the Civil Rights Movement had a profound impact on our students and faculty.

sparking deep conversations and leaving everyone with a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger connection to the ongoing fight for justice.

Our talented students from Percy Julian and BTW took the stage to share their original poetry. It was a beautiful reminder that the next generation of leaders and changemakers is already here, and they’re using their voices to keep pushing the needle forward for equality and justice.

This event was a true celebration of history, art, and reflection—a perfect example of how the stories of the past can inspire the future. We’re so grateful to Omo Moses for sharing his father’s legacy with us, and to all the students and faculty who made the day unforgettable.
