Montgomery Public Schools is proud to announce that Lindsey Norris, teacher at Forest Avenue Elementary School, has been selected as one of the Top 16 Finalists for the 2025-2026 Alabama Teacher of the Year (TOY) Award. This incredible recognition highlights her exceptional dedication to student learning and her leadership in the classroom.

The Alabama Teacher of the Year Program, a prestigious initiative by the Alabama State Department of Education, honors educators who demonstrate a remarkable commitment to improving student achievement, fostering innovation in teaching, and serving as leaders within their schools and districts. Out of 155 educators nominated across the state, Lindsey Norris was chosen as one of the 16 finalists who will move forward in the selection process to potentially be named the 2025-2026 Alabama Teacher of the Year.

Lindsey's selection is a testament to her passion for education and the impact she has made on her students and the Forest Avenue Elementary community. As the District V Elementary Teacher of the Year, she is known for her creative approach to teaching, her unwavering support for her students, and her ability to inspire a love for learning in every classroom she enters.
