We appreciate your understanding and continued support of our student-athletes across all participating schools. Please stay tuned for further details.
Thank you.
Students will be out of school on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday. We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and restful long weekend!

We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility. Due to extremely cold temperatures, please ensure your child is dressed in warm layers, including a coat and, if possible, a hat and gloves, before leaving home.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our school community.

Dr. Byrd and Interim Chief of Staff Dr. Lashley recently visited STARBASE Maxwell, where they witnessed how hands-on STEM learning is preparing students for futures in science, technology, and innovation. Experiences like these strengthen partnerships and expand opportunities for our scholars—another example of how we’re moving MPS forward.

We’re proud to spotlight MPS students from Montgomery Preparatory Academy for Career Technologies (MPACT) participating in the 2025 Congressional App Challenge—a national STEM competition where middle and high school students design original software applications to solve real-world problems.
These scholars represent the innovation, creativity, and future-ready skills being developed across Montgomery Public Schools. Congressman Shomari Figures celebrated their work with a special reception.

The 21st CCLC grant would allow MPS to expand tutoring and academic enrichment, provide safe and supportive learning environments during non-school hours, and offer engaging programming aligned with state standards.

Academy award-winning actress and proud MPS alumna Octavia Spencer returned home to Highland Avenue Elementary to read her book, Detective Dell Is on the Case, to a group of eager kindergartners!
A huge thank-you to Ms. Spencer and Ello for providing copies of the book for our scholars to take home and continue building their love for reading and empowering them to believe they can achieve great things!
